This is your lake house. The one that you keep looking for, but can’t quite find. It’s not only got 100 ft of prime lakefront, but the house itself would be attractive in absolutely any location. But this lake is pristine, clear, and doesn’t allow any motorized boats – and it’s surrounded by a small handful of adorable homes from the 1960s and 1970s. The house itself sits on a double lot and you’d have to strain to see another home in summer, although the lake itself is beautiful in four seasons. And, just 95 miles to the George Washington Bridge, this sweet getaway is one that’s close enough for you to actually enjoy all year-found.
For starters, there’s a ridiculous amount of decking on two levels – over 1,400 sq ft of additional living space with a screen porch, a deck with a cathedral ceiling (that could be easily winterized), and one totally open deck. That doesn’t even include the bluestone patio by the lake itself. You can pick and choose where you want to enjoy your private outdoor space throughout the day….or host a whole horde of visitors!
The two levels of the home itself are both quite open and flexible, and the current owners are using the downstairs as a luxurious master suite with a king-sized bed, sitting area surrounding a propane fireplace, super glam full bath, office space, and private access to the screen porch and stairway to the lake. The upstairs has an open kitchen and dining area plus two guest rooms and another full bathroom. The renovations undertaken by the current owners upgraded the existing home, which now includes an open, semi-industrial kitchen with incredible Viking and Bosch appliances, an alarm system, polished concrete floors downstairs.
The current owners pay roughly $700 per year (!) in fuel costs due to a hyper-efficient heating system – and the cost of the lake association is currently $450/year, which provides access to some additional communal areas, plowing, and the maintenance of the lake itself. There are no regulations prohibiting any kind of rentals, so this could be an incredible place to use yourself while offsetting costs with short-term rental income.
