Ghent

Founded in 1818 from parts of the towns of Chatham, Claverack and Kinderhook, Ghent, NY, is a small town in the center of Columbia County, northeast of the city of Hudson. Ghent is home to the historic Van Valkenburgh-Isbister Farm and the hamlets of Arnolds Mill, Buckleyville, Omi, Pulvers, Ghent, West Ghent, and Chatham, known for its live dance, music, theater, film and fine arts, as well as its annual Summerfest, Octoberfest and Winterfest events. Ghent is also home to Art Omi, a nonprofit arts organization with residency programs for international artists, writers, translators, musicians, architects and dancers.
