Dear potential buyer or seller,
It’s hard to write a bio for this website because this process is not really about me. It’s about you.
Well, it’s a little about my ability to listen really well, come up with great/creative/ /pragmatic(!) ideas to help you buy or sell a home, know when to offer advice and when to sit back, and to be able to guide you to experts for questions ranging from septic systems to financing…before, during, and after your transaction.
Why I love real estate
I bought my first apartment on a perfect brownstone block in Park Slope when I was 22 for $79,000 and have experienced the financially transformative potential of real estate ever since! I’m a believer. And I am eternally grateful to be a part of this important, life-changing process for my clients.
What I did before real estate
After working as part of the first dotcom boom, I built an international marketing business based in NYC with higher education clients in over 20 countries. It was an incredible experience that honed my ability to communicate across languages and borders – and develop the infinite patience and problem-solving skills that being a small business owner requires!
Falling in love with the Hudson Valley
The Hudson Valley and the Catskills became the place that my husband Robert and I escaped to whenever I really wanted a break from the constant jet lag and to BREATHE that incredible, sweet air. When we had the opportunity to buy a weekend home upstate, we went whole hog and decided to move full-time instead.
We live in Kerhonkson and our lives are about 5 billion times better than they were in Brooklyn – and we loved living in our adorable village-like neighborhood in Brooklyn! I lived in Aspen during high school and had somehow completely forgotten that part of me actually likes seeing natural beauty every day and being able to get from A to B without a subway (and I had never owned a car til we moved here!). We knew how beautiful it was up here, but we were totally surprised by the incredible community of people here that welcomed us with open arms. We are never bored. Never.
But back to you. Maybe you’re thinking about buying a weekend house or moving up here full time. Maybe you’re ready to sell and need it to happen fast – or to get the right price. If your situation involves real estate in Ulster County (and a little bit beyond!), I’d love to have a conversation to see if we’re a good fit. No pressure, no big sales pitch. Just give me a call at 917-622-4333 or drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org if you don’t want to fill out the contact form next to my head!
Why should you work with me?
Ok, some last thoughts cause I feel like I should put a couple credentials down here:
1) I know how important it is for you to be able to reach me quickly and you’re welcome to call or text or email any time of the day or night. If I’m busy or sleeping, my ringer will be off.
2) I’m pretty smart. I went to Harvard for undergrad and the London School of Economics for my master’s – and there are no libraries named after my parents, promise!
3) I have traveled all over the world and have lived in Germany, Israel, the UK, and France. Nothing beats studying or working abroad to train your ability to communicate clearly and not make assumptions about what someone else is saying….
4) I’m literally OBSESSED with real estate and with this region. I read and talk non-stop about both topics and love to share what I’m learning with clients (and friends and anyone else who will listen).
That’s it! Good luck and I hope our paths cross sometime soon!
