Lis Bar
Known as the âgateway to the Catskillsâ, the City of Kingston has seen a revitalization in each of its three distinct neighborhoods â Uptown, Downtown, and Midtown â in recent years. The latter, Midtown, has established itself as an up-and-coming arts district: Former warehouses have become studios and workshops for artisans, new galleries have sprung up, and thereâs even a pop culture museum. Not to mention, the culinary scene is hot, with restaurants to please any palate and three craft breweries. Hereâs a taste of what Midtown has to offer.

Though Midtown doesnât currently offer hotels, youâll find comfortable accommodations about a mile away. The popular Hotel Kinsley offers luxe lodging Uptown, whereas The Forsyth B&B is located Downtown near a walkable waterfront park. The Newkirk is a beautifully redone upscale AirBnB rental on the outskirts of Midtown.
POINTS OF INTEREST

Or, catch a show at Ulster Performing Arts Center (UPAC), a former 1920s Vaudeville theater where top acts like Brian Wilson, Joan Jett, and Sheryl Crow have recently graced the stage.
