For instance, the Four Corners — known as “America’s oldest intersectionâ€â€” features colonial-era buildings on each corner at the intersection of John and Crown Streets. You’d be hard-pressed to find a restaurant Uptown that doesn’t serve top-quality food. Diehard foodies will love the creative local fare by founder and chef Chris Turgeon at Wilde Beest. Brunch at Duo Bistro can’t be beat, with mouthwatering menu options like bread pudding French toast or gourmet omelets. Boitson’s is best known for serving up fresh oysters, but their entire dinner menu is tempting. Plus, they’ve got a secret back patio that overlooks the Catskills. Try Sissy’s Café for sandwiches, wraps, and smoothies in a casual setting, or Yum Yum Noodle Bar for Asian-inspired cuisine.

For history buffs, the Senate House is a National Historic Site and museum housed in a former Revolutionary War-era meeting place; tour the house and property where historical reenactments take place. Then, venture across the street to Stockade Tavern for one of the best hand-crafted cocktails you’ll ever have.
